Simultaneous Interpreters repeat what the speaker says in real time, translating it orally into another language, lagging only a few seconds behind the speaker. There are no breaks in the presentation.

• Simultaneous interpreters use electronic equipment, working in soundproof booths or open environments
• Simultaneous interpreters typically work in pairs, replacing one another approximately every 20 minutes
• At the highest levels, simultaneous interpreters work into their native language only
